Password generator

Your input is processed only in this browser. See the privacy policy.

How to use it

  1. Choose a mode. Random passwords start at 16 characters and include every selected character type.
  2. Match the length and allowed symbols to the site’s rules. Invalid combinations show an explanation.
  3. Copy the result where you need it. Select 5, 10 or 20 for a batch, then use Copy all.

Examples

Six-digit PIN

Set PIN length to 6 for one of 1,000,000 strings from 000000 to 999999. That is about 19.9 bits of entropy; leading zeros stay intact.

Restricted symbols

Set allowed symbols to !@ and keep Include each type enabled. With all four types selected, every result contains uppercase, lowercase, a digit and either ! or @. Never use published examples as passwords.

Details

Randomness comes only from the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues. Values outside the required range are discarded and drawn again, avoiding the bias caused by a simple remainder operation. For character passwords, the tool counts all strings that meet the length, initial-letter and character-type rules, then selects one uniformly. It does not patch a password afterward by inserting required characters.

Entropy is the base-two logarithm of the number of possible results. Passphrases draw independently from a single, independently curated list of 1,898 short English words, allowing repeats. Their entropy is the word count times log2(1898). The optional two random digits add log2(100) bits. Fixed separators and predictable capitalization add no entropy.

The time shown models average exhaustive search at 100 billion guesses per second. It is a comparison, not a promise of safety or a prediction for a particular website: password storage, login limits and leaks change the situation. Short PINs have small search spaces. Results are not saved in browser storage and disappear on reload. Copied text may remain in your device’s clipboard.

Frequently asked questions

Will every selected type appear?

Yes, while Include each type is on. When it is off, every character comes from the selected types, but some types may be absent.

Why are the words always English?

Every language uses the same built-in English vocabulary. Each word is drawn independently, so repeated words are expected and allowed.

Does the time estimate guarantee safety?

No. It assumes a stated guess rate and average exhaustive search. It does not account for phishing, reused passwords or a compromised device.

What does Clear remove?

It removes the current result and batch from the screen, keeping your settings. Generate again for fresh results. It does not erase previously copied clipboard text.
